The meeting began about 11:25 am
- More Water Main Construction Disruption
- Although the project was supposed to be finished by December, apparently they still weren’t finished when they patched the pavement better in December and went away.
- Although work on Sierra Madre Villa is already underway again this week, Thursday’s press release states that work at the intersection of Sierra Madre Villa and Foothill will begin on Monday Jan 13 and is scheduled to be completed by February 7. It also says it will occur from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- The press release says the work will include detours at times and recommends seeking alternative routes.
- Presumably our neighborhood will again be affected by the use of the PWP yard for trucks and material and debris sorting and storage.

- General Plan Update Workshop on Feb 1
- A community meeting described as a workshop “to present and receive comments on draft policies for the General Plan Update”, specifically the Land Use and Mobility Element policies.

- In February and March the City’s commissions “will consider the community comments, review the draft policies, and provide comments” on them. City staff will then put together a final draft for City Council approval.

- “The Citizen Police Academy (CPA) is a twelve-week class held on Thursday evenings during which participants engage in presentations and discussions on Pasadena Police operations and the principles of community policing. We strive to promote a greater awareness and better understanding of your local law enforcement’s role in the community.Hosted by the Police Department’s Community Services Section, the classes are presented in a friendly and informal classroom environment. We provide a lovely family style dinner each night while you are presented information on topics such as police communications, laws of arrest, policies, practices and procedures for crime enforcement, prevention and investigations. Learn about field identification and forensics and spend a day at the police range for lectures and demonstrations on weaponless defense and firearms safety. You are invited to hear from law enforcement professionals about how we operate and why we chose a career in public service.Participants who successfully complete the CPA will enjoy a graduation dinner and receive a certificate of completion. Those interested, may also be eligible to join the PPD core of Volunteers.
Eligibility for the Citizen Police Academy is contingent upon meeting the following requirements:
• Minimum 18 years of age
• Live, work, own property, or verifiable community involvement in Pasadena
• No felony convictions
• No misdemeanor convictions within one year of applicationSCHEDULE – Our next Class is scheduled to begin on January 30, 2014 and will meet on Thursdays from 5:30-9:00pm at the Pasadena Police Department, 207 N.
